Additional Information: Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport provides the eight million people living in the North East Iberian Peninsula. The development has included a completely resurfaced runway, two new taxiways, 35 apron stands, ILS CAT III, a fire station and the introduction of a new Safety Management System. The second and third stages, leading up to 2025, will take capacity to 15 Million passengers per year and alrady studies are being undertaken for the construction of a new runway, which envisages the existing runway being used as a full lenght parallel taxiway.
